Hiking

With over 500 kilometers (310 miles) of marked trails and 15 mountain cableways in the area, you can’t go wrong with hiking in the Jungfrau Region. There are many great hikes just outside the doorstep of our holiday apartments. The trails are very well marked--just follow the yellow arrows and you can’t go wrong. More info can be found on the Wengen tourism site.

Mountain Biking

Mountain biking in the Jungfrau Region has something for every skill level. From world class downhill tracks to scenic cross country rides for the more casual rider. Nearly everything is accessible by train or cableway and you can rent traditional mountain bikes or electric mountain bikes in Wengen. If you’re not sure, we recommend the e-bikes so you’re sure to see as much as possible.

Skiing & Snowboarding

For over 90 years, Wengen has been home to the world famous Lauberhorn Downhill ski race. It is the longest downhill race in its category. While Wengen offers this epic downhill course for the FIS Ski World Cup athletes, the Jungfrau Ski Region caters to all skill levels, with three mountain ranges and about 206 kilometers of perfectly prepared pistes. Regardless of skill levels, there is something for everyone.

Sledging

You no longer need to hike up small hills for 10 seconds of fun. The Jungfrau Ski Region has many dedicated sledging runs accessible by train or cableway. Some of these runs can last as much as 15-20 minutes, depending on experience.

Winter Hiking

Every avid hiker can attest to the beauty of hiking in the winter. With winter hiking trails prepared just for that, you will love the fresh mountain air and the beautiful sound of snow crunching under your shoes on every step you take. There truly is something magical about Wengen in winter.

Skydiving

We have logged thousands of skydives around the world and can attest... This is truly one of the most beautiful places on the planet to make a jump. There are several drop zones in the area--some cater to first time jumpers and some cater to experienced jumpers with their own gear.

BASE jumping

No kidding. the Jungfrau region is home to some of the best BASE jumping in the world. Even if you aren't a jumper it's fun to watch in Summer!

One of the best ways to see the Lauterbrunnen valley. Get the best bird’s eye view, from a place far fewer people get to go. An incredible flying experience. No experience is necessary for a tandem paragliding flight!

Find out about the area and its myths at the Talmuseum in Lauterbrunnen.

Männlichen

Take the cable car from Wengen to Männlichen and enjoy the breathtaking views. This is also a great starting point for many hikes of varying difficulty.

Trümmelbach Waterfalls

With ten glacial waterfalls inside the mountain, the Trümmelbach waterfalls are truly unique. We recommend a visit even on bad weather days. Be sure to bring extra layers--it can get cold in there. Trümmelbach Falls is only open during summer months.

Staubbachbänkli

Open all year round, the walk will take about 30 minutes from Wengen, leading you to one of the most stunning views over the Lauterbrunnen valley and its many many waterfalls. There are several benches at the Staubbachbänkli, so we recommend you take a picnic and drinks of your choice.

Wengen Viewpoint

Just behind one of the Wengen churches are 3 benches for visitors to relax and take in the view. A bit of a local secret because the benches are hidden behind a few bushes. Highly recommended for a sunset drink!

Lauberhorn Downhill Race

The world famous Lauberhorn Downhill race. For over 90 years Wengen has hosted the world’s longest men’s downhill ski race. Many fans gather at the top of the Wixi ski lift to watch an airshow by The Patrouille Suisse (Swiss Air Force) with the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau in the backdrop.
